Public comment cards will be made available during Harbor Commission Meetings. Each speaker will be given 3 minutes to address the Board. If translation is needed, the time for comment will be extended to 6 minutes. ELECTRONIC COMMENTS AND EMAILS • Electronic comment can be made online www.polb.com/webcast. The comment period closes 30 minutes before the start of each meeting. • Written comments or materials may be submitted before or throughout the meeting by email to bhc@polb.com. All written comments or materials submitted will become part of the official record of the meeting. Please note that leaving an eComment or sending an email will NOT result in you being contacted to speak during a meeting.
HYBRID MEETINGS EXCEPTION (AB 2449) Under AB 2449, a commissioner can exercise "Just Cause" or "Emergency Circumstance" allowing the commissioner to participate remotely in a meeting. If this happens, the Multipurpose Room will still be accessible for public observance of the meeting and public comment, but the meeting will also be open for comments virtually. Virtual comments will be activated on the WebEx internet page and a notice will appear next to the online meeting link under "Upcoming Meetings." The following instructions apply ONLY when a commissioner participates remotely. • Raise Hand: Raise your hand by clicking the hand icon or by pressing *3 on your phone while the item is being read to indicate that you want to provide public comment on the item. The speaker list will close 1 minute after the item is read. Public comments will be addressed in the order they are received. • Mute/Unmute: When you're called for public comment, you can unmute by clicking the microphone icon or by pressing *6 on your phone. All participants will be able to hear you. • Public Comment: Please note that each speaker will be given 3 minutes to address the Board. If translation is needed, the time for comment will be extended to 6 minutes. • Leave Meeting: Click Leave Meeting or end the call on your phone to leave the meeting at any time. If you leave, you can rejoin if the Harbor Commission meeting is still in progress.
